Manual labor, the most physically demanding work, is normally also the lowest paid.
The bucket of a cleaning worker stands symbolically for all these humble jobs. The dirty water has been replaced by diamonds, a visual attempt to remunerate these jobs more fairly, and also to restore their dignity.
