BRANCUSI
at the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin

This lecture series explores Constantin Brancusi’s (1876–1957) formal language and artistic development. It examines how his sculptures, through reduced linearity, carefully balanced spatial dimensions and proportions, and the deliberate use of space, material, and perception, established new standards of modernism. Brancusi’s works are also discussed in dialogue with works by other artists of his time.

With experimental perspectives, bold design approaches, and a clear, new aesthetic, they opened up surprising horizons for photography. The accompanying discussion series explores how these artists have shaped and expanded the understanding of photography in a lasting way.
